WE WORSHIP THE LAW!!

Updated: Oct 9, 2022

THE PREDICAMENT OF “THE LAW”

Pharisses and Law-yers teach:

The Law of God is the Truth we seek. This Truth or Law will make us Free. The Law of God is the Gospel. The Commandments of God is the Law. God has commanded us to keep the Law. God is perfectly obedient to the Law. God would cease to be God if He disobeyed the Law. God needs the Law to be God. “All that the Father hath” He obtained by obedience to the Law. God is under the Law. God is “Bound” by the Law.

Whatever we focus on most with real intent, is what we worship - WE WORSHIP THE LAW!!!

The Law is the source of all our Blessings – D&C 130:20-21 “There is a Law irrevocably decreed upon which all blessings are predicated and when we obtain any blessing from God it is by Obedience to that Law.”

I will have greater knowledge & Power than others if I diligently obey the Law. D&C 130:19 “If a person gains more intelligence through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much advantage in the world to come.”

We are sent to this earth to learn to keep the Law. I make Covenants to keep the Law. Ordinances that I do are the Law of God. Jesus kept the Law perfectly. To follow Jesus I must keep the Law. I perfect my Self by keeping the Law. I need the Law to perfect my Self. If I keep the Law, God is Happy with me. If I break the Law, God is Angry with me. I control God’s emotions based upon whether I keep or break the Law. Sin is when we don’t keep the Law perfectly. The wages of Sin (or not keeping the Law) is Death. Romans 6:23

I earn death as my wages. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

I am worried and fear that I cannot keep the Law perfectly.

Nephi felt the same way and was brought into the depths of despair by his sins. 2 Nephi 4:17-30 My heart exclaimeth: I am wretched, my heart sorroweth, my soul grieveth, because of mine iniquities. I am encompassed about by temptations and my sins which do easily beset me.” Why does this cause my heart to weep and my soul to linger in the valley of sorrow, and my flesh waste away and my strength slacken, and the evil one to have place in my heart, and my peace is destroyed and my soul afflicted and I become angry at mine enemies?”

However if I keep the Law perfectly then I earn Eternal Life, I live forever.

Nephi obviously did not keep the Law as well as I am. I don’t feel as bad as he did.

I am bound by the Law. The Law is the path to my Eternal Power and Glory.

The Law is the ladder I must climb to get into the Kingdom of God.

My salvation is by obedience to the Law. I will obtain “all that the Father hath” by Obedience to the Law.

Breaking the Law separates me from God. I must cling to the Iron Rod – the Law.

We attend Church to be instructed in the Law to bring us back to God.

The scriptures instruct us in the Law to bring us back to God. John 5:39

My mind is constantly occupied with and focused on how I can either Keep (or Beat) the Law

I want (lack) to live the Law with all my Heart.

If I live the Law I am proud of my Self.

My view of my Self (Self-Esteem) is a function of where I am with respect to the Law.

When I keep the Law perfectly I will be all-Powerful.

I am not free of the demands of the Law & never will be.

Priesthood is the authority to administer the Law. The Law & God are inseparable & synonymous.

Pres. Kimball said that whatever we focus on most is what we worship. We worship “The Law”.

The Pharisees do not teach: James 2:10 Whosoever shall keep the Whole Law, and yet offend in one point (of the Law) is Guilty of the ALL”.

The Servants of Christ teach:

Paul said: “We know that whatever things the Law saith, it saith that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the Law NO flesh shall be justified in His sight.” Romans 3:19-20; “The Law perfecteth Nothing.” Hebrews 7:19; The Law worketh Wrath” Romans 4:15; “The Letter of the Law Killeth” 2 Corinthians 2:16; The Gentiles have attained unto righteousness; but Israel, which followed after the Law hath NOT attained unto Righteousness. Why? Because they sought it by the works of the Law and not by faith; for they stumbled at that Stumbling Stone.” Romans 9:30-33.

Lehi said: “Men are instructed sufficiently that they KNOW good from evil (the Law). And the Law is given unto men, and by the Law NO flesh is justified; or by the Law men are CUT OFF. Yea, by the temporal Law men are CUT OFF, and also by the Spiritual Law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable FOREVER.” FOREVER? FOREVER! 2 Nephi 2: 5

Nephi said: “We speak concerning the Law, that our children may know the deadness of the Law, and they, by knowing the deadness of the Law, may look forward unto that Life and know for what end (purpose) the Law was given. And after the Law is fulfilled, they need not harden their hearts when the Law ought to be done away.” 2 Nephi 25:27

Spencer W. Kimball: Whatever you focus on most – with all your heart – is what you Worship!
